SHADES SOCIAL AND COMMUNITY MANAGER
Location: Marylebone, London
Type: Full-time, minimum 3 days a week in office
Reports to: Shades Brand Manager
Salary: £40,000–£50,000 pa (dependent on experience)
WHAT IS SHADES?
Founded by none other than the legend himself, Niko Omilana, in partnership with Tuckshop (the brand-building powerhouse led by Ed Williams and Jamie Laing), Shades is really shaking up the industry.
Shades’ launch in May 2025 was the biggest food launch in UK history. Since then, we’ve sold over 10 million packs, secured listings in most major retailers, and grown a highly engaged community of over 1.2 million people. As we head into year two, we’re looking for the best Social and Community Manager out there.
Shades needs someone who lives socials, brings serious creative energy, and genuinely loves people. We want everyone in our community to have the best Shades experience whenever they reach out.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Owning Social Day-to-Day
You’ll manage and evolve @shadesbyniko across TikTok and Instagram — planning content, spotting trends early, and making sure we’re posting things people actually want to watch, save and share. Niko is obsessed with virality and engagement, so it’s crucial you’re tapped into the zeitgeist and what’s happening culturally for Gen Z.
Content Strategy & Creation
From reactive posts and memes to campaign content and launches, you’ll help shape our social content strategy and bring it to life, working closely with Niko and the wider team. You’ll own our social calendar and be expected to report on all key social metrics.
Community Management
You’ll be the voice of Shades online. You’ll own our online tone of voice and, with the help of our Marketing Executive, ensure every single DM and comment is replied to. Shades is community-obsessed and something we’re serious about growing.
Community Moments & Surprise & Delight
You’ll run community-led initiatives — giveaways, surprise-and-delight moments, reposting UGC, and rewarding our most engaged fans in ways that feel fun, authentic and on-brand.
UGC & Creator Engagement
Spot, encourage and amplify great UGC. You’ll work with creators and everyday fans alike, helping Shades show up across feeds in a way that feels organic and culturally relevant.
Supporting Campaigns & Launches
You’ll support major brand moments, launches and competitions across social — helping drive hype, conversation and participation.
WHO YOU ARE 😎
- You live and breathe social media. TikTok and Instagram feel second nature, and you instinctively know what will (and won’t) land with Shades’ audience.
- You understand community, not just content. You enjoy talking to people, replying to comments, and making brands feel human.
- You’re hugely plugged into Gen Z and youth culture, including trends, humour, language and internet behaviour. Loving YouTube is a big bonus.
- You have 2–3 years’ experience in social media, community management, content, or a related role.
- You’re creatively minded but organised — able to plan content and jump on moments in real time.
- You’re proactive and self-motivated. You don’t wait to be told what to do — you spot opportunities and run with them.
- You’re excited by building something and being part of a fast-moving brand where things evolve quickly.
